New Testament Books - Memory Work

Lucy's been working on memorizing the names of the books of the Bible's New Testament for 3 or 4 weeks now.

We played a few games to help her learn it.

Can I be honest and share I really didn't expect her to be able to memorize them?  I just couldn't picture her pronouncing "Thessalonians"!   Children's ability to learn continues to amaze me.  Wouldn't it be nice if we could memorize like that?

Here's my 5-year old bundle of energy with her AWANA leader waiting to be called up front to receive her award.

I love her AWANA leaders!

Can I just share what an honor it is the Lord has trusted me to disciple my children?  I am humbled beyond words by His grace.  The fact that He didn't leave me where I was close to a decade ago - lost, hopeless.  Not only did He bring me out of that pit but He completely changed my family tree.  My children now have the privilege of growing up knowing Him, learning His Word, hearing It from the time they wake up to the time they close their eyes.

In the drive home late last night after AWANA, Jim and I could hardly hold back the tears just talking about what the Lord is doing in our lives, what He is doing in Lucy's life, what a MIRACLE it is that our family is where it is right now.   I hope you know I am not boasting.  I am just so aware of the brokenness of the past and the sweetness of His redemption.  I really understand David's words when he said "who am I, O Lord, that you have brought me this far? 2 Samuel 7:18

He is good!
Here's Lucy...
