Community

One of the things I have enjoyed the most about this last year has been meeting and getting to know many homeschooling families in our community and  our church.  It caught me by surprise because I wasn't expecting to find so many homeschoolers in Texas.  I should have known though... but I guess that's why it is called providence.  We don't realize how well God guided us, planned for us, provided until after the fact.  At least that's how it seems to work for me.

I look back to just 22 short months ago when we were praying for help in finding a home church and how without even knowing it we ended up becoming part of one with so many homeschoolers and that fits us so well in so many ways.  I can think back to the first several months in this new town feeling so disconnected, so far away from what had been my support system as I became a Mom.  I prayed for friends, for us and for Lucy.  I prayed to feel at home to feel like I belonged and one by one those prayers continue to get answered.

I am learning how much of homeschooling is exposing our children to community and I feel so blessed to have such a neat community to watch my daughters grow up in.

Here are some pictures of some of the children in our homeschooling homegroup decorating Easter eggs and cookies.  It makes me so happy to see how the older ones help the young ones and how well they interact with each other.
