It's that time again! We start school in a couple of days and we are kicking off the school year with our 2nd annual tie dye party.
We are decorating t-shirts (and socks) that we will wear in this year's field trips.
It's a little dorky but helps us keep track of the kids when we go to places where there are tons of other kids.

The dye master brewing the colors :) |
One of the main parts of our studies this year will take us through the book of Proverbs. We'll also learn Bible history and build a timeline of events as we go from Genesis through Revelation. We are super excited.

Don't be fooled. Jim enjoys this way more than the kids do. |
We decided our shirts needed to reflect what we'll be studying so we have crosses and a heart in the center. Here's what we did... We started by drawing the design on a white tshirt with color sharpies.
Then we sprayed it with rubbing alcohol to help the colors bleed out.
Then we dyed the rest of the shirt using the traditional clothes dyes.
The girls made their own designs on socks. Kept their little hands busy for many many minutes!

We'll take some pictures wearing our new attires on our first day. I feel blessed to have another year at home with these kiddos.
