I have started this year on fire for reading. I kept a list of books that people I look up to recommended throughout the second half of last year anxiously awaiting some Christmas money to be able to order them. My shipment came in promptly the first week of January and I have spent every spare second I have had since then reading.
I think it was God's divine hand that arranged for one of the books to arrive separately and before all the others. The book was Passionate Housewives, Desperate for God by Jennie Chancey and Stacy McDonald. It would have been my last choice of the first reads of the year had it arrived with all the others... BUT it came in all by its lonely self and I was desperate (non pun intended) for new reading material so I dove into it and OH-MY-GOODNESS.
I will not even attempt to review it here because I know I will not do it justice. I will just share that God used this book to minister to me in a way only the loveliest of Fathers can do. I have a renewed passion, vision and sense of purpose in my role as homemaker and mentor to my daughters. Talk about starting the year right! I know it will all tie in together with homeschooling nicely which is why I am sharing here in our HS blog.
Currently Reading: Dumbing us down by John Gatto.... another eye opening book. I wrote about this one on an earlier post and will share more once I finish it.

Danaly,
It has been a while since I've checked out the Homeschool Blogg. You are a natural teacher and a wonderful mother. I really admire the way you have thought through the lessons that you want your daughters to learn and how you want your household to be run.
Our love to you and your family.
Elisa
