Jim spent the day at Lamar University one day last week interviewing students for a coop position at his company. I was eager to hear how his day went when he came home. Don't know what it is about interviewing young people that I find so exciting... probably just remembering when I was there and the funny/silly things that come out of ones mouth in an effort to impress the interviewer. I was sure he would come home with some good stories.
I was secretly rooting for the two girls in the group of eleven to do well and sounds like at least one did and ended up being the second favorite in the group but guess what Jim learned about the top candidate, the guy all interviewers liked the best? You guessed it, he was homeschooled! The interviewers knew that just because high school information was required on their detailed application.
Jim just went on and on about how articulate and mature this young man was. We were both psyched, don't ask me why... I guess just happy to meet our first homeschool graduate and learn that he was normal and smart and good enough to be the top choice when compared to his peers.
