A wife and a mother

During one of the first coversations I had with a homeschooling mom, she very freely shared that one of her primary goals in homeschooling was to prepare her daughters to be wives and mothers.  Her statement shocked me not because I disagree with preparing girls for those two roles but because it's not something most women in this day and age would come out and say outloud.

Looking now into educating my own daughters, I have to say that developing skills that will help them bless their homes, their husbands and their children is certainly something I want to do as part of their schooling.  If it turns out marriage and motherhood are part of what God has in store for them, I would love for them to go into it with confidence.

On that note... here is my first born learning how to put together a quick chicken pot pie :)

I better keep an open mind though 'cause if you ask her she will tell you her and her sister are going to be firefighters when they grow up! :)
