A House or a Home?

We are working on the letter H this week and along with horses, hummingbirds, hearts and hotdogs, I am teaching Lucy some more abstract things like the differences between a house and a home and about being a helper.  I have had butterflies in my stomach from the excitement I feel at tackling these concepts with her.  She's such a sponge and so eager to learn.

This morning as I had her clean the living room baseboards with baby wipes :), I talked to her about how blessed we are to have a house to live in and the importance of being good stewards of the things we've been blessed with.  I told her that every time she helps with chores around the house she shows her love for our family and love is what turns a house into a home.  It's been so sweet to see her understand and be eager to do the work I give her to do.

Wouldn't it be awesome if that eagerness to help would survive the teenage years?

Drying dishes (our dishwasher doesn't dry them :( so we do that by hand...

Learning how to do laundry...

Next in the "H" agenda... Heaven.   Praying for words that will plant seeds in her heart.
